Mr. Le Van Lam – Principal of Pha Danh High School for Ethnic Minorities and Secondary Education said: “There are a total of 365 students in the school. Students, most of them go to school far from home so they all live at school. Some children walk more than ten kilometers of forest roads and go through several hills to get to school. Because economic conditions are still limited, and the teachers’ responsibility at the school is to both teach and take care of the children’s daily lives, the school still faces many difficulties.”

With the sincere confessions from the school teachers, we are extremely moved and sympathize with the difficulties and hardships of the students and teachers. Representative of SUN SHINE Joint Stock Company, Mr. Pham Dinh Thuong shared: The gifts not only have material value, but it is the thoughts and feelings that the company and the staff of SUN SUN SHINE want for the children. After the meeting, the volunteer group was led by teachers to tour the school’s facilities and share current difficulties. The school was built in the middle of a steep cliff. Although it receives attention and support from the People’s Committee of Nghe An province as well as domestic and foreign benefactors, the children’s living conditions are still difficult and lacking.

Specifically, although there are a total of 365 students in the school, there are only 6 bedrooms, space is cramped and lacking, students still have to sleep together 3-4 on a 1,1 meters bed. Furthermore, the school does not have separate toilets for children and teachers, so currently children have to go to the toilet in the forest no matter how cold the weather and wind are.

Understanding and sympathizing with those difficulties, SUN SHINE hopes that in the coming time, we will continue to accompany the school and government units of Nghe An province to gradually improve learning facilities to help teachers have better working conditions and the students have a better learning environment. Specifically, SUN SHINE will support the school to build separate toilets for the children, then expand the dining room and bedroom to make it more spacious and comfortable.
