On the afternoon of April 6, 2024, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ms. Lê Thị Thu Hằng, held a working session with representatives of 10 Vietnamese associations in Japan. The meeting took place at the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan. Among the participants was Mr. Phạm Đình Thương, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Saitama Prefecture and General Director of SUN SHINE Corporation.

Representing both the Vietnamese Association in Saitama and SUN SHINE, Mr. Phạm Đình Thương expressed his pleasure in welcoming Vice Minister Lê Thị Thu Hằng to Japan. He reported on the achievements, assessed the strengths and limitations of past activities, and proposed upcoming projects.
His report focused on key issues such as supporting the Vietnamese community in overcoming challenges, integrating into local society, preserving the Vietnamese language and teaching it to the younger generation, maintaining cultural identity, and organizing fundraising and aid for Japanese people affected by natural disasters.
After hearing reports from the Vietnamese association representatives, Vice Minister Lê Thị Thu Hằng emphasized that Vietnam–Japan relations are currently at their strongest. This favorable context allows the Vietnamese community in Japan to thrive, grow rapidly in both size and quality, and gain increased recognition and standing in Japanese society.
Concluding the session, the Vice Minister commended the valuable contributions of Vietnamese associations in strengthening solidarity and building an increasingly robust Vietnamese community in Japan. She also encouraged continued collaboration with the Embassy and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and active participation in domestic and overseas events. She urged the associations to keep promoting Vietnamese culture, serve as cultural ambassadors, and act as bridges of friendship to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Japan.
