In response to the Government’s call, and together with compatriots nationwide looking towards the northern‑mountain regions, SUN SHINE GLOBAL has decided to contribute an emergency relief package of 200 million VND to send essential supplies and necessary items to help residents overcome the difficulties after storms and floods.
Typhoon Yagi – A historic storm with severe impact on northern Vietnam’s mountainous regions
Typhoon Yagi — the strongest storm in Southeast Asia in recent years — became one of the historical typhoons with severe destruction upon its landfall in Vietnam. Prolonged heavy rain triggered flash floods and widespread landslides, sweeping away homes, property, and costing lives.
Remote villages and homes that sheltered generations were suddenly reduced to ruins under the terror of nature. Many families lost their lifetime accumulation of property — from household goods to their most beloved people.
Casualty numbers continued rising daily as rescue operations sought missing persons within the debris. Hundreds of roads were devastated by landslides or cut off by flood‑waters, isolating many villages and making relief efforts extremely difficult. These losses and traumas cannot be described by words.
SUN SHINE GLOBAL joins hands to support compatriots in the flood‑affected North
Responding to the urgent appeal of the Vietnamese Government, SUN SHINE GLOBAL’s leadership through its Japan office quickly decided to support the mountainous regions affected by the floods. A 200 million VND emergency relief package was approved and deployed immediately to procure essential supplies for the people.
Once the decision was made, all staff at SUN SHINE GLOBAL in Vietnam — across generations from Gen Z to Gen Y — immediately participated in preparing relief supplies. Regardless of age or generation, everyone deeply empathized with the difficult circumstances of the affected communities and contributed both materially and spiritually.
They quickly organised to purchase essentials such as food, medicines, lighting equipment… All were prepared in one half‑day, carefully packaged to ensure safe transport under flooded conditions, and shipped to Yên Bái overnight.
Within a few days, SUN SHINE GLOBAL’s relief trucks were loaded and dispatched to severely affected provinces like Yên Bái, Tuyên Quang, Phú Thọ, Thái Nguyên. These contributions were not only material but carried compassion and solidarity that SUN SHINE GLOBAL wished to send to compatriots.
On the evening of September 11, representatives of SUN SHINE GLOBAL joined the relief team onsite at Minh Quân and Tân Hợp communes, Trấn Yên district, Yên Bái. Despite adverse weather, muddy and slippery roads, the team was determined to deliver supplies directly to those in need.
Meeting, listening to and sharing with people enduring huge losses due to the storm and floods moved every member of the team. Their strongest wish was how to contribute a small part, share and support so that people soon overcome this difficult time.
SUN SHINE GLOBAL spread the spirit of mutual compassion, fostering the bond of “two words — compatriots”.
This spirit of mutual support was not only evident within SUN SHINE GLOBAL but also spread widely into the community. While supporting compatriots, SUN SHINE GLOBAL felt proud and moved by the collaboration of individuals and organisations wanting to reach out to northern mountain affected people.
For example, the family of Mr & Mrs Trịnh Thị Hiền – Nguyễn Văn Hoan based in Japan donated 1 ton of rice to flood‑affected people. This meaningful act shows that even those living far from home still turn their hearts to compatriots and the Fatherland.
The bakery chain C.rếp in Vinh city, Nghệ An also donated 20 boxes of mineral water and 10 boxes of cakes to share with flood‑affected people. These gifts were not only material aid but also a strong moral encouragement, helping compatriots confidently overcome adversity.
Additionally, when purchasing needed medical supplies for people, the owner of Tâm Phúc pharmacy (Lê Trọng Tấn, Thanh Xuân, Hanoi) kindly donated many vitamins, effervescent tablets, hand‑sanitiser … with an emotional sharing: “Seeing compatriots suffering, I wanted to donate but didn’t know how; fortunately these young colleagues let me donate.” These are precious hearts aligned with helping flood‑affected people.
SUN SHINE GLOBAL is proud to contribute its small part with the State and community to assist mountain‑region compatriots through disaster. We hope that, with the spirit of “mutual support”, the northern‑mountain compatriots will soon overcome difficulties and stabilise into everyday life!
